Description

Dynamo Models A35011 – 1/35 Set of 5 Guns – MP40 with Folded Stock is a detailed weapon accessory set containing five German MP40 submachine guns represented with their tubular metal stocks folded. Designed for 1/35 scale modeling, the weapons are produced in 3D-printed resin and are ideal for upgrading WWII infantry figures, vehicle crews, military vehicles and historical dioramas. The folded-stock configuration gives each MP40 a compact appearance particularly suited to figures operating in confined spaces or carrying the weapon alongside other equipment. The A35011 reference, five-piece contents, 1/35 scale and 3D-printed construction are confirmed for this Dynamo Models set.

Contexte historique et thème

The Maschinenpistole 40, better known as the MP40, was one of the principal German submachine guns of the Second World War. Developed from the earlier MP38, it was designed with increased use of stamped and simplified components to facilitate wartime manufacturing. The weapon was chambered for the 9 mm Parabellum cartridge and became closely associated with German forces throughout the conflict.

Although frequently nicknamed the “Schmeisser,” this designation is historically misleading, as Hugo Schmeisser was not the designer of the MP40. More than one million MP38 and MP40 family weapons were manufactured during the war, and the MP40 became one of the most recognizable German infantry weapons of the period.

One of its defining characteristics was the folding tubular steel shoulder stock. When folded beneath the weapon, it significantly reduced the MP40’s overall profile, making it more convenient for transport and for personnel working inside vehicles or other confined environments.

Détails et réalisme des figurines et véhicules

The MP40 has a distinctive appearance created by its metal receiver, prominent magazine housing, straight detachable magazine and tubular folding stock. A surviving wartime example held by the Australian War Memorial confirms the use of a folding steel butt, plastic handguard and detachable 32-round box magazine.

A35011 specifically represents the weapon with the stock folded, giving modelers a useful alternative to MP40 accessories depicted in the fully extended firing configuration.

The five identical weapons allow several figures within a group to be upgraded consistently or can be distributed between different projects. Individual MP40s can also be placed inside open vehicles, beside crew positions or among equipment to introduce additional fine detail.

Utilisation en diorama et en affichage

A35011 is suitable for German WWII scenes across a broad range of theaters and periods. MP40s can accompany infantry figures, vehicle crews and other personnel in European, Eastern Front, Mediterranean, Normandy, Ardennes and late-war settings when appropriate to the specific unit being modeled.

The folded-stock configuration is particularly useful for vehicle-related compositions. It can work naturally with figures positioned inside or around armored vehicles, half-tracks, trucks and command vehicles where compact personal weapons were practical.

The accessories can also be used in trenches, buildings, command posts and resting scenes, either carried by figures or positioned with other equipment.

Matériel et personnalisation

Dynamo Models A35011 contains five MP40 accessories produced in 3D-printed resin. The weapons are digitally sculpted and modeled and are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paint are not included.

Painting can emphasize the MP40’s predominantly metal construction while differentiating the darker synthetic components around the grip and handguard. Subtle edge highlighting and carefully controlled wear can bring out the fine printed detail without creating an exaggerated metallic finish.

The weapons can also be combined with suitable slings and additional personal equipment according to the historical references used for the chosen figure or scene.

À qui s'adresse-t-il ?

Dynamo Models A35011 is ideal for 1/35 WWII figure painters, German military modelers, armor builders and diorama creators looking to replace simplified kit weapons with more detailed resin accessories.

The five-gun format is particularly practical for infantry groups, vehicle crews and modelers who want matching MP40s available for several WWII projects.
