“PRE ORDER” KM Model – 1/48 Schuztenpanzerwagen U304(f) mit 3,7 cm PaK 36

The KM Model 48006 Schützenpanzerwagen U304(f) mit 3,7 cm PaK 36 is a highly detailed 1/48 scale 3d print resin model kit that recreates one of the unique armored conversions used by German forces during World War II. Originally based on the French Unic P107 half-track, captured in large numbers after the fall of France in 1940, these vehicles were modified by the Wehrmacht into armored troop and weapons carriers, extending their service life on various fronts.

Origin of the vehicle:

• Base model : French Unic P107 half-track artillery tractor , taken over by the Germans after the capitulation of France in 1940
• Purpose : The Germans needed light vehicles to transport and tow guns, so they converted captured Unic P107s into the leichter Zugkraftwagen U304(f) – a light artillery tractor

Combat vehicle modification:

• Production : Carried out by Baukommando Becker in Maisons-Laffitte, which specialised in adapting captured vehicles
• Changes : Added armor and mounted a 3.7 cm PaK 36 anti-tank gun
• Goal : To create a light fire support vehicle for infantry, capable of fighting light armored vehicles.

Combat use:

• Units : Vehicles of this type were used, among others, by the 21st Panzer Division during the fighting in Normandy in 1944
• Effectiveness : Although the PaK 36 was already outdated compared to modern Allied tanks, the vehicle still served as fire support and command
