Description
Historical Context & Theme

The 1/48 Commandos Kieffer set by Dynamo Models pays tribute to the 1er Bataillon de Fusiliers Marins Commandos, known as the Kieffer Commandos, who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
Composed of 177 French volunteers integrated into the British No.4 Commando, they were the only French troops to land on Sword Beach on D-Day.
Their courage and determination symbolized France’s return to the fight for liberation. This set captures the intensity and pride of these elite men—trained in Scotland, hardened by war, and united under the motto “France Libre.”

Figure Details & Realism

This 1/48 scale resin kit features finely sculpted French commandos in authentic battle poses, equipped with British uniforms, web gear, and distinctive green berets.
Weapons and gear include Sten guns, Lee-Enfield rifles, and satchels, reflecting their hybrid British-French equipment style.
Despite the compact scale, every detail—from the uniform folds to facial expressions—has been meticulously reproduced to evoke movement, tension, and bravery.
The figures stand as an homage to the men who carried the tricolor flag into battle on French soil once again.

Diorama & Display Use

Perfect for Normandy 1944 dioramas, this set integrates seamlessly with British or Allied landing craft, urban ruins, or beach landing scenes.
It can also accompany other 1/48 Allied figures to recreate the assault on Sword Beach or subsequent inland operations.
The realistic combat poses and detailed equipment make this set an excellent storytelling element for both dynamic vignettes and historical displays.

Material & Customization

Produced in high-quality resin with sharp definition and minimal cleanup.
Assembly and painting are required. Glue and paint are not included.
Painters can use authentic British Commando uniform colors—khaki webbing, dark green berets, and field-weathered tones—to achieve historical accuracy.

Who It’s For

This set is ideal for WWII enthusiasts, diorama artists, and collectors passionate about Allied operations and French military history.
It’s a perfect centerpiece for D-Day displays or to honor the legacy of the Kieffer Commandos, whose bravery helped free Europe.
